# AUTH\_1006: Hardware ID mismatch

Why it happens:

Volt’s Hardware ID (HWID) is still locked to a previous device and is currently on cooldown. Our VoltX tool tries to reset it automatically, but it cannot override the cooldown.

How to fix it:

1. Wait for cooldown (usually 24 hours) and try again.
2. Or swap to a different Volt account that is not on cooldown.
